College Life

So.... Life at the Ohio State University... I have been here since last thursday and it has been really incredible. My room mate is fantastic, although she is sooo much smarter than me and has so many more classes than me I don't know what to do!!! But she has the same beliefs that I do, so I can talk to her about God and my spiritual life.

I haven't really made any new friends yet, I have met a lot of people, but I guess I just don't know how to make them actual friends! Its also a little hard because not very many people are religious here... I think this will be the hardest thing for me. I don't want to make friends with people and then they cause me to fall in my walk with God, because I just don't know how I would be really... So, since my classes all end really early, I have just been chillin' in my room with my room mate, or alone just doing homework, then after that procrastinating time away because I don;t really know what to do with it. So, its pretty much the same I was at home after school, except I don't have my church to go to several times a week. But speaking of churches, I am in search of some on campus for my Sundays and different church groups for the week.

I went to the Chi Alpha meeting thursday night. For the longest time I knew that God wanted me to go to Chi Alpha because I had connections with them through AG, and it is supposed to be this AMAZING church group on campus. Well anyway, I went and it wasn't what I thought it would be... I'm praying about it, but I don't know if God still wants me to continue going there, or if he just wanted me to on thursday night. I'm very confused about the whole thing, and this week I am going to a diffract group called Real Life that is also supposed to be really great, but also a lot larger than Chi Alpha. So, I;m gong to see how that goes, and I will give you all an update on that!

On another note, I have been applying for jobs in the Arts Center on campus and I just got two emails back today and I have an interview tomorrow!!!! So hopefully I will have a job very soon to keep me busy!!!

One thing I fear the most (other than making friends) is that I will lose pasion for God while I'm here. Its so hard when I don't have a wonderful church to go to with wonderful people that help me. Like Pastor Wes's message the Sunday before I left, he was tolling about spending our time wisely, and I want God to do great things in my life so badly, but thats not going to happen with me sitting in my room all day, and I don't know if it will happen in the job either. But I know God has put me here, so I have to listen to him and trust that he has amazing things in store for me this year, and that my time will be sent wisely!!!!

Sorry this was such a long post, but I love you all and I can't wait to see you all again during Thanksgiving and Christmas!!!! Oh and by the way, its very cool because my routine from the summer is continuing with reading my bible every morning and doing devos!!!

Alisha

We have floor devotions once a week and chapel a few times per week. We have so many outreach opportunities and we have other options for missions trips and so I can't wait to dig in. The food is also pretty tasty here on campus (:

Recap

So this week has been absolutely amazing!!! So, I already told you about Monday night, but Wednesday was so awesome, God's holy spirit rained down on all of us and there was unexpected moments of tongues and prophesy. I was filled with the holy spirit and had amazing moments with God!!!!! The speakers name was Jeanne Mayo, and she had an amazing and powerful message, and on top of that, she was hilarious! There were comedians before the service and they had people come up on stage, and of course, Myk Fox went up and he was hilarious!
Today we went to the beach, Sunday was the first time I have ever been there, but that wasn't for very long but it was still a very fun experience. Today though, we spent pretty much the whole day at the beach, I had fish and chips for lunch on the pier. The waves were huge and so much fun. I got burning eyes of salt water and a raw throat from swallowing so much! I chafed from the sand in between my legs and got bad sunburn on my face, but I want to stay here forever! I don't want to go back to Ohio, I just want to live down here with the sun, the ocean, the palm trees and the clean bathrooms! I wish I could post pictures, but I'm on my kindle, so I do t have any on here to post, but I promise you will see them soon! I get back Saturday... :( So you guys will have more info then and more details about the services!
I love you all and wish you guys were here with me!

Gos Is Awesome!!!

I just wanted to check up with all you guys on how nationals is going!!! Today was the first actual day, there was worship and service. The worship band was Leeland, they were AMAZING. The speaker was also amazing, although I don't remember his name at the moment. He talked about how Philip was sent to the desert from Samaria and in the desert a chariot with an Ethiopian leader passed by and Philip was able to share God's glory with him. Anyways, the whole point is that Philip was sent from an amazing rescue of a city out to the desert by himself because God wanted him to speak to one man who would later impact numerous lives. It was really really amazing and impacted me. He called us to say yes to the plans God has for us before he speaks to us and we know what they are. Then Leeland sung the Great I Am  and people were healed and it was awesome!!! I hope and pray God is working in your lives at home just as much as he is with ours here!
I love you all!!!

Isaac and Rebekah

So, I was reading in Genesis last night, and I came across the story of Isaac and Rebekah. As I read my bible each day, I find that I am discovering more and more of God's character, and this story helped me find a little more. In the story, God sent one of Abraham's servants out to his hometown and his people to find a wife for his son Isaac there. This was a really tough challenge for the servant, to travel for 2 weeks then find a woman to marry the son of Abraham whom would be the heir of Gods promise. So taking this all in perspective, this is kind of what we do. We don't travel 2 weeks to pick a husband, but we search for a man to hold out God's plan for our lives. When the servant got to the hometown, he prayed to God, "See, I am standing beside this spring, and the daughters of the townspeople are coming out to draw water. May it be that when I say to a young woman, 'Please let down your jar that I may have a drink,'and she says, 'Drink, and I'll water your camels too'--let her be the one you have chosen for your servant Isaac" (Genesis 24:13-14). It then goes on to say that before he was even done praying the woman he was searching for walked up. She did what he had prayed about and gave water for 10 thirsty camels to drink (thats about 250 gallons she had to draw from the spring). The amazing thing I found through this is that Abraham and his servant both trusted God, they both prayed and trusted that God would show them the one. They prayed for someone with hospitality and servitude. God is so amazing. He does't want us to settle with someone that is not a follower of him, he wants us to want someone that is a child of God like we are. He wants us to pray about it. Ultimately, he wants us to trust him to the end, whether or not a husband is part of our future. The woman they found was Rabekah, and she went home with the servant and married Isaac, and they had 2 other children that they raised together under God. This just shows what plans God has for our lives. And I will trust him with my life, because I know I can't succeed on my own.

And also... I was listening to this song this morning, and I love it and I love Kari Jobe, and I just wanted to share it on here with everyone! <3

ps. Could everyone please pray for all of us who are going to nationals, for health and safety, for us to have amazing moments with God through the fellowship, worship, and services, and to do good with our human video, because we are doing this through service for him, not for ourselves! Thank you all so much! I love you!
